How do you feel about this?

I'm wearing a t-shirt I brought from Florence with a sketch by daVinci. Ever since I put it on I keep repeating a quote by daVinci that I heard a few years ago. It goes like this: "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who endowed us sense, reason and intellect intended to forgo their use". I believe in God, but I hate people who don't question Him and the world. I think as human beings it's our nature to question everything, so why don't some people question him.

I know what you mean. When I was like 12, my mom used to read me bits and parts of the Bible. Even then, I remember questioning some of it. My mom told me this: "Faith is blind. When it comes to God, you just have to believe"...The readings stopped then and there. How was I supposed to do that? I still don't do that.

Surfed over from http://annush.blogspot.com and loved your comment there.

And I do question him. Or her. Every day.

Don't get me started ... don't even get me started ... Specially now that I'm visiting the family in D.R. ... Talk about blind faith ... If a priest told these people to jump off a bridge they probably would and not ask why.

Odisea, not all of us dominicans are blind followers. Some of us have read and seen things that have radically changed our way of thinking.

Oh, I didn't mean to sound as if I was generalizing, when I wrote "these people," I was referring to my family. I know a lot of Dominicans aren't blind followers, they make up most of friends here.

saludos Caballero... I find it hard to believe in anything right about now. I guess when the time is right we'll choose to believe or not... BTW, thanks for registering @ Blogs Dominicanos :)

Cuidate!
